80 cm pituutta, valtavan suuret silmät, Alexandre, Philippe Gentyn kuuluisa marionetti, on varmasti eniten matkustanut esiintyvä nukke. 130.000 km 2CV: n kyydissä ympäri maailmaa. ”Aleksanterin retkikunnalle” maailmanympärysmatka oli valtaisa teatterikiertue. 568 esitystä neljässä vuodessa. Ensin Serge Georgen kanssa, sitten Mitchiko Tagawan, joka Japanin kiertueen ajaksi tuli edellisen tilalle ja vielä Yves Brunierin, joka liittyi seurueeseen Panamassa, Philippe Genty ja hänen marionettinsa kulkivat läpi Euroopan, Aasian, Japanin, Australian, kaikki kolme Amerikan maanosaa, yhdeksän aavikkoa, 47 maata. Retkikunta kokosi 81 yksilöä marionetteja eri kansanperinteistä, tallensi 7500 metriä värielokuvaa, johon sisältyi myös dokumentti Unescolle, lisäksi 4520 valokuvaa – sekä väri- että mustavalkokuvia ja 2670 väridiakuvaa. Neljän vuoden ajan 2CV kuljetti tämän kaiken. Tuo 130tkm oli muuten tähän mennessä pisin koskaan 2CV:llä tehty yksittäinen matka.

Alexandre, 30 inches tall and with wide wonder-struck eyes, is the star puppet of the Philippe Genty troupe and undoubtedly the most widely travelled marionette in the world; having covered 80.000 miles by 2 CV in a tour that put on 568 performances in a four-year tour around the world. With Serge George, later with Mitchiko Tagawa who replaced George in Japan, and finally with Yves Brunier who joined the tour in Panama, Philippe Genty and his marionettes crossed 9 deserts and travelled through 47 countries in Europe, Asia, Japan, Australia, and the Americas. In the course of its tour, the expedition collected 81 specimens of marionettes belonging to all folklores, shot 250.000 feet of colour film (including a documentary for Unesco), took 4500 black and white photos and 2.670 colour transparencies. 2 CV carried everything during he four-year, 80.000-mile trip – the longest distance ever covered by a 2, CV in a single journey.
Quatre-vingt centimetres de haut, de grands yeux emerveilles, Alexandre, marionnette vedette de la troupe de Philippe Genty, est surement la poupee articulee qui a le plus voyage du monde entier : 130.000 km én 2 CV tout autour de la terre. Pour “l’expédition Alexandre” le tour du monde est une gigantesque tournée théâtrale : 568 spectacles en quatre ans. Avec Serge George, puis Tagawa qui remplace celui-ci au Japon et enfin Yves Brunier qui se joint á eux á Panama, Philippe Genty et ses marionettes travelsent l’Europe, l ‘Asie, le Japon, l’Australie, les trois Ameriques, 9 deserts, 47 pays. L’expedition reunit une collection de 81 specimens de marionnettes de tous les folklores, tourne 7500 m de film en couleur, dont un documentaire pour l’UNESCO, prend 4.520 photos noir et blanc, 2.670 diapositives en couleurs. La 2 CV, pendant quatre ans, transporte tout.
